Lashonda Brown works 20 hours a week teaching you how to use tech and grow a business on Youtube. Needless to say, she’s a huge inspiration—who doesn’t want to have a thriving business only working half time?!?. Today, we want to share a little more about how she now uses Enji for her business, Bootstrap Biz Advice, and why it’s so important to use a marketing system for small businesses. If after reading this you’ve decided to give Enji a try, use Lashonda’s link to start your free trial and get Enji for $19/mo. for your first two months!
Why We Need Marketing Systems as Small Business Owners
First, let’s back up a second. As a small business owner, Lashonda knows content is important. She built her whole business around YouTube content! But like most things in business, managing it all was a different story. Before Enji. She was juggling assets across multiple platforms—Canva, Google Drive, Dropbox—you name it, she had it. This is what we see behind-the-scenes of most businesses, and so we knew we could help.Â
Enter Enji. Lashonda used our software to streamline her workflow, organize her content, and delegate tasks more efficiently (this is one of her keys to working 20 hours a week so if that rounds good to you—-keep reading).
Here’s what she had to say

Tips for Marketing Your Business While Only Working 20 Hours/Week
If you're inspired by Lashonda working just 20 hours a week, here's how she makes it happen. Lashonda herself says she focuses on "eliminating, delegating, and automating." And because we know so few people who actually only work 20 hours a week, we have to believe that she knows what she’s talking about. And she hit the nail on the head when she said that right now, businesses need to be creating content to market their business. A lot of it.
In fact, we asked what advice she's give to someone hoping to run their business on just 20 hours a week and this is what she said:
- DEEP FOCUS with the Pomodoro method - Instead of trying to multitask, focus on doing one thing every 25 minutes with 5 minute brain breaks in between. You'll find yourself way less distracted and ultimately you'll get more done in the long run. I had my editor make me pomodoro timer videos to work with and you can watch them for free on my channel.
- ACCOUNTABILITY PARTNERS help a ton - Leverage the concept of body doubling to help yourself focus. I use the app Groove to virtually co-work with my friends and hold myself accountable. When someone knows what you intend on doing, you're more likely to get it done. It's like the difference between hopping on the machines alone at the gym vs working with a trainer or taking a group class. Positive peer pressure is a real thing.
- SCHEDULING JOY is my secret sauce - Having something to look forward to all week helps me push through. Sometimes it's just the fact that I have Fridays off but other times I'll schedule adventures for Friday that give me something to work toward through the week.
How to Use Enji With a Small Team
We’ve designed our software to work well for solopreneurs, but if you’re trying to delegate tasks, we knew it would be helpful to add team members to your account. That way, the people working with you don’t just see a list of tasks—they get a full picture of your strategy, calendar, and brand!Â
In Enji, you can add people to your team and give them access to your business (from using your AI Copywriter and Social Media Scheduler to the Brand Asset Library and Media Kit). You can also assign specific tasks to people, so nothing slips through the cracks.Â
Let’s back up and dig deeper into the brand asset library and AI copywriter (in case you’re new around here). How it works is, the brand asset library provides a centralized location to store all your brand elements, from logos to colors to font choices. So if your current collaboration with your team sounds a lot like, “double check what I use in Canva”, this is going to be a huge time saver for you.Â
On top of that, the AI copywriter is another favorite because it’s not just a generic tool like Chat GPT; inside Enji, you can create a unique brand voice that reflects your brand personality, which helps you (or someone on your team) generate copy that sounds on brand. This makes it much easier to outsource.
Basically, Enji has everything she needs to have a high-level overview of her marketing, and be able to delegate effectively to her team!

LaShonda’s Favorite Marketing Tool in Enji
While we are talking about ways LaShonda uses Enji, it’s worth mentioning that her favorite Enji feature might surprise you. It’s our Media Kit! As you start to grow your business (and build marketing systems), you’re going to collaborate more and more. And the first question everyone is going to ask is, “can you send over your headshot and bio?”. Enji saves you a ton of time (and keeps you consistent!) because you can send them the link to your Media Kit instead. You can see LaShonda’s media kit in action here!
If Enji Can Help This Youtube Content Creator Organize her Content, You Should Probably Use Our Marketing System For Small Businesses Too
If Enji could help her (and let's be honest, Lashonda already had her shit together), it's safe to say there are a lot of small business owners out there who could use a marketing system to manage their content. If you’re looking to build a marketing system that can keep up with you, it might be time to give Enji a try.
How Enji Helps You With Your Small Business Marketing
Our job here at Enji is to make marketing your small business easier, whether you feel like you know what you’re doing or not. We like to think that Enji is to Hubspot what Canva is to Adobe. Canva is this really user-friendly piece of software that has empowered non graphic designers to create graphics instead of relying on something that's more professional grade like Adobe products. Similarly, HubSpot is this suite of marketing tools that sophisticated marketers who have departments and degrees really love to leverage because it helps them understand what they're doing and the impact of their marketing, but it’s not accessible for small businesses (both in budget and the time it takes to learn it). That's what we're here trying to do for small businesses.
TL;DR: We have built all of our tools on the premise that you're not a marketing expert, and so you don't want to sit down at a computer and write your marketing strategy onto an empty Google Doc.Â
Ready to Use a Marketing System for Small Businesses?
At the end of the day, building a marketing system for your small business doesn’t have to be overwhelming or reserved for the experts. As Lashonda said, having a tool like Enji can help you streamline your marketing, keep your content organized, and make collaboration with your team a heck-of-a lot easier. With features like the brand asset library, AI copywriter, and KPI dashboard, Enji is a true all-in-one marketing software that equips small business owners with everything they need to create, manage, and track their marketing strategies.Â
So, if you’re ready to take control of your marketing and finally feel in sync with your business goals, now is the time to give Enji a try and see how it can make your marketing easier too. As an added bonus, we’ll give you a done-for-you marketing strategy within minutes of starting your free trial (and you’ll get your first two months for just $19 each if you stick around)!Â
